Does norton security scan work?

i just got my own computer the next day this Norton Security Scan thing pops up it says i have some viruses and there all the same (tracking coockies) idk if i should trust it? one virus protector popped up on my moms i clicked get rid of viruses but it ended up that waz a virus!
