Unemployment Compensation and a side job (original question deleted??)?
I'm currently receiving unemployment compensation in the state of Florida, where I live. I've been offered an odd job that will pay me 70 to 80 bucks in the form of a personal check, I believe. Do I have to report this to the unemployment office? I didn't have to fill out any kind of application or submit my social security number or anything. I'm just expected to show up at a certain time, do my job and they'll pay me. It's basically under the table work, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to tell the unemployment office. If I don't report it, will I get in trouble? The unemployment office transfers the money to my bank account, so they have all that information, so I'd imagine they would be able to view my bank account. I can't live off of 80 bucks a week, but having that extra money will help me overall with bills. I just need some insight before I start calling the office and asking them. They can deny benefits even if you turn a job down. They'd probably rather me make 80 bucks a week than pay me what they do now. Please, I need some insight. My original question was deleted and I have no idea why. If it's deleted again, whoever does delete it, please tell me why or I'll just keep asking.
