Is there a website I could go on to see if there is a virus on my computer?

For some reason, my computer is completely messed up and nothing on my desktop is wanting to work right. I haven't seen any blue screens and I can't seem to access my security settings to even scan for viruses. I need to be able to scan for a virus that may have wiped an important file that deals with programs on my desktop.
